MARSTEK VENUS E Mini

Availability

The VENUS E Mini is documented in the distributor materials, but it is not on the current Philippine SRP flyer, and the only manual on file is a 230 V / 50 Hz edition. Check availability, pricing and a Philippine (220 V / 60 Hz) variant with Silvera Solar Power before offering it to a customer. No official product photo is in the source set, so this page has none.

What it is: the VENUS E Mini (model MST-BIE2-1500, "2 kVAh") is a smaller AC-coupled energy storage system from the VENUS family. It has a 2,009.6 Wh LiFePO4 battery, a Grid port and a BACKUP socket, and works with an existing solar system through a CT/meter, like the VENUS E 3.0.

Who it's for: smaller homes, condos or light-load users who want plug-in storage and modest backup (1.5 kVA) instead of the 5.12 kWh / 2.5 kVA VENUS E 3.0.

Best for

  • Small households with an existing solar system that want to store surplus solar (Self-Consumption with a CT/meter).
  • Backing up a few essential loads (lights, router, fan) during brownouts, within 1.5 kVA.
  • Customers who want the VENUS app experience at a smaller capacity.

Key features

From the VENUS E Mini manual:

  • Operating modes: AI Optimization, Self-Consumption and Manual (§1.6), configured in the MARSTEK app. The introduction (§1.1) also mentions a UPS mode, but §1.6 describes only three modes.
  • Compensation function: single-phase compensation, or three-phase total compensation for near-zero export. Three-phase compensation is "strongly advised" for multi-device installations.
  • Meter compatibility: fully compatible with MARSTEK CT002 and CT003. Also works with Shelly Pro 3EM, Shelly EM Gen3, Shelly Pro EM-50, ECOTRACKER IR and PI Meter (only one device per phase for these third-party meters).
  • Whole-house backup: can work with the MARSTEK SmartBox (the manual's diagram shows "Single-Phase/Three-Phase SmartBox") with multiple VENUS E Mini units. See More products.
  • LED indicators: error, Grid socket on, BACKUP socket on, capacity bar, CT connected, Wi-Fi connected, BT connected.
  • Interface: On/Off button, BACKUP AC socket (EU standard), Grid port.

Installation & safety

From the VENUS E Mini manual (§2, §4 and Safety Information):

Never connect both sockets to the grid

Do not connect both the Grid and BACKUP sockets to the city power network. The manual warns this causes a circuit break or device damage. Improper wiring risks short circuits, backflow failures and fire.

  • Who installs: only qualified professionals or properly trained personnel. Do not power on until it is correctly installed or confirmed by a professional. Obtain utility approval before grid-tied operation.
  • Orientation: upright only. Never tilt it, lay it flat or turn it upside down.
  • Surfaces: solid brick-concrete, concrete walls or floors are recommended. Alternatives (drywall, wood) must be flame-retardant and meet the load-bearing requirement.
  • Clearance: keep clearance for heat dissipation and safety isolation. No other equipment nearby (except VENUS-compatible devices and approved awnings) and no flammable or explosive materials.
  • Accessories: AC cable ×1 and wall-side mounting bracket ×1 (wall mounting steps are optional).
  • Recommended tools: screwdrivers, wrench, diagonal pliers, insulating gloves, measuring tape.
  • Breakers: each branch line must have a circuit breaker; a central protective device is not required.
  • Maintenance: authorised personnel only; inspect at least once a year. The AC output harness must not be replaced; if damaged, the device must be scrapped. Unplug from the grid before maintenance.
  • Install in a dry, well-ventilated area away from liquids and flammable or explosive gases.
