Frequently asked questions

Every answer below comes from the MARSTEK manuals, datasheets or the SRP flyer in the distributor Drive, and each one links to the page with the details. If a question isn't answered here, ask Silvera Solar Power. Please don't guess.

Choosing and buying

Which MARSTEK product is right for me?

It depends on what must run, for how long, and whether you already have solar. Portable stations (V500, M1200, M2200) need no installation. Home systems (VENUS E 3.0, MARS I PLUS, V6000) are wired into the house. Start with the decision guide. → Which MARSTEK product is right? · Brownout preparedness

How much does it cost?

Current promo prices are listed on the price list, taken from the SRP flyer in Drive (June 2026). Prices change, so confirm current pricing with Silvera Solar Power before quoting or buying. The flyer lists product prices only, so ask what a quote includes (for example installation, cabling or solar panels for home systems). → Price list

The flyer says "M1800" and "M2400". Are those different from the M1200 and M2200?

The flyer's "M1800" and "M2400" carry the specs of the M1200 (1,030 Wh / 1,800 W) and the M2200 (2,240 Wh / 2,400 W) from the manuals and datasheets. The names seem to follow the AC output rating. Confirm the model on the box with Silvera Solar Power. → M1200 / M2200 guide

How much battery do I need for a brownout?

Add up the watts of everything that runs at the same time (this must be below the product's continuous output). Then add up watts × hours for each appliance (this must be below the battery's usable energy). The calculator does this for you. → Backup calculator · Worked example

Can I use these on the Philippine 60 Hz grid?

Check before you buy or install. The V500, M1200 and M2200 documents are written for 230 V / 50 Hz (or 200–240 V / 50 Hz) and do not mention 60 Hz. The VENUS E 3.0 Philippine-edition manual (MST-BIE5-2500) states 220 V / 60 Hz, while the general datasheet says 230 V / 50 Hz. Silvera Solar Power should confirm the version of each unit in stock. → VENUS E 3.0 · V500 quick start

Portable power stations

What can the V500 run?

Loads up to 500 W rated (1,000 W peak) from one AC socket, pure sine wave. If you plug in more than 500 W, it "will stop operation and enter a protective state". Its battery is 2,009.6 Wh LiFePO4. → V500 quick start

Can the V500 charge from the wall and solar at the same time?

Yes. AC only = 500 W. Solar only = depends on the panels (500 W max). AC + solar = 750 W total. With strong sun, PV is capped at 500 W and AC adds 250 W. With weak sun, AC makes up the difference. → V500 charge-only mode

Can I use the V500 while it is plugged in?

Yes. With AC connected, it runs in bypass: grid power supplies the load (500 W max). With AC + solar connected, the grid powers the load and solar charges the battery. → V500 simultaneous mode

Is the V500 waterproof?

It is rated IP65 and is fanless. Keep the AC OUT flip cover closed until it clicks. The manual still says to keep it away from rain and other liquids during transport, and to store it indoors away from damp, dusty or coastal environments. → V500 quick start: storage

How fast do the M1200 and M2200 charge?

From the manuals: M1200: AC ≈ 1.3 h, 800 W solar 1.5–5 h, car 9–12 h. M2200: AC ≈ 1.5 h, up to 1,200 W solar 2–6 h, car 18–22 h. Solar times depend on the weather. → M1200 / M2200 charging

Can I use solar panels from another brand?

For the M1200 / M2200, yes, according to the manuals' FAQ. The panels must be 12–59 V DC, max 800 W (M1200) or 600 W × 2 (M2200). For the V500, the manual lists MC4, 500 W max, MPPT 12–59 V and 15 V start-up. → M1200 / M2200 guide · V500 interface

Can I add more battery to the M1200 or M2200?

Yes, according to the datasheets. The P1200-M (1,030 Wh) takes the M1200 to 2,060 Wh. Up to two P2200 (2,240 Wh each) take the M2200 to 6,720 Wh. Check availability and pricing with Silvera Solar Power. → Expansion batteries

Can I take a power station or powerbank on a plane?

Power stations: no. The M1200/M2200 manuals say lithium batteries above 100 Wh cannot board aircraft. Powerbanks (18.5–73 Wh) are under 100 Wh, but their manuals don't cover air travel, so check with the airline. → M1200 / M2200 safety · Powerbanks guide

How should I store a power station between brownouts?

V500: 50–60% charge, indoors, recharge every 1–2 months, then unplug the charger. M1200 / M2200: 60–80% charge, top up every 3 months, cool and dry place. → V500 storage · M1200 / M2200 storage

Is there an app?

Yes, the MARSTEK App. It connects over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for real-time monitoring and control. The V500 manual lists Android 6.0+ / iOS 12.0+. Download it by scanning the QR code in the manual. The M1200/M2200 manuals also point to Google Play and the App Store. → V500 app · M1200 / M2200 app

Home energy storage

Will VENUS E 3.0 work with my existing solar panels?

The VENUS E 3.0 datasheet describes it as a plug-in AC-coupled storage system with a 5.12 kWh battery, the type designed to sit alongside an existing solar system. A site survey confirms compatibility. → VENUS E 3.0 · Glossary: AC-coupled

Does VENUS E 3.0 keep my lights on during a brownout?

The datasheet lists a backup (off-grid) output of 2.5 kVA rated, 3.5 kVA peak for 10 s. Only loads connected to the backup output are powered. → VENUS E 3.0

Do home systems need a professional installer?

Yes, for MARS I PLUS and V6000: their manuals require trained/qualified ESS professionals. For VENUS E 3.0, the Philippine-edition manual says enabling the higher 2.5 kW "Premium" on-grid power (0.8 kW by default) must comply with local regulations and be done by authorised personnel only. → MARS I PLUS · V6000 · VENUS E 3.0

Warranty and support

What is the warranty?

  • M1200 / M2200: the manuals state 5 years from the purchase date ("Register Now to Get 5 YEARS WARRANTY!").
  • V500: the manual says the period is set by the warranty card in the box, starting from purchase.
  • Other products: see the product page and confirm with Silvera Solar Power.

Keep your proof of purchase. Current local warranty policy from Silvera Solar Power takes precedence over the manual text. → M1200 / M2200 warranty · V500 warranty

My V500's red WARN light is on and it beeps. What does it mean?

The number of beeps shows the fault type: no beep = voltage/current/frequency abnormal (clears by itself), 2 beeps = temperature, 3 beeps = charge/discharge current or voltage, including overload, 5 beeps = short circuit (power off and restart). → V500 troubleshooting

My M1200 / M2200 AC output switched off. Is it broken?

Usually not. Above 1,800 W (M1200) or 2,400 W (M2200), over-power protection shuts off the AC. Remove the load and press the AC button to turn it back on. A no-load shutdown timer set in the app can also switch the AC off. → M1200 / M2200 troubleshooting

My phone won't charge from the power station or powerbank.

Check that the port is switched on (indicator lit), that the battery is above 20%, that the device doesn't need more than the port's rating, and that the cable is seated properly. That is the M1200/M2200 manual's checklist. → M1200 / M2200 troubleshooting · Powerbanks guide

Where are the official manuals?

All manuals and datasheets are in the MARSTEK distributor Drive, linked from each page's Sources section and the manuals index. → Instruction manuals · Source map
